Practicing with new Gold ink from Japan. I love the combination of using black sumi and gold. The simplicity is what I enjoy most painting in this style. You have to be careful not to use the gold too strongly, it tends to cheapen the painting. I try to cut the gold with black to bring the shine down, to get a more muted tone, so its a part of the painting.
