My new pen designs for the Quincy Jones Limited Edition pen series from Montegrappa of Italy.  I spent a few month’s working up these designs and it’s amazing how Montegrappa was able to reproduce exactly what I designed.  Right down to the details of the packaging and special case with violet plush lining and the special tooled Q logo.  I designed an entire line of silver pens, textured fountain pens, and a great patterned handle all with Quincy’s signature and Q brand logo etched into the nibs.  A fantastic company with exquisite products..

Here’s a little history from Montegrappa’s website:

Montegrappa pens have played their part in history, for signing documents during key moments in the 20th Century. Famed Italian leaders including Victor Emmanuel III and Benito Mussolini used Montegrappa pens. Amongst the Russian leaders of the last part of the century, Boris Yeltsin gave his Dragon pen to Vladimir Putin on 2nd January 2000, and with this pen he symbolically handed over his power to him. Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev signs all official documents with the Montegrappa Extra 1930.

From Montegrappa: Montegrappa is proud to announce the officially-authorised pen collection honouring the legendary musician, Quincy Jones. For the rollerball and marker versions, Quincy Jones’ signature is engraved at the finger grip, while the solid 18K gold nib carries his signature on the fountain pen. Montegrappa will produce a limited edition of 1933 fountain pens in carbon fibre, 1933 rollerball pens in carbon fibre and 1933 markers in carbon fibre.
