Thanks to my dear friend Quincy Jones for inviting me to dinner with Paul McCartney. Had such a great time chatting with Paul and it was such a thrill when I first saw him walk in the room.  He was smooth and so classy, took me right back to the Beatle days, and all the books and albums I collected for years.

For The Grammy’s

Paul and his wife Nancy were in Los Angeles for the Grammy Awards and Quincy set up a small private dinner at his home in Bel Air. Paul was fantastic, so graceful and charming, very friendly and so easy to talk with.  We talked about his own artwork and how he’s been too busy to paint lately.  He also told me a great story about when he met the famous artist Willem de Kooning when he was with the Beatles – when Paul asked de Kooning how he created a particular piece, de Kooning said, ” I just through down some paint,” great stuff.

Paul’s Portrait

I painted a few portraits of Paul and at the end of the night he graciously signed the art for me, the third portrait was a renaissance style painting of him and Nancy that he loved and took with him when we left Quincy’s.   Fantastic night.
