Here’s few contemporary paintings in my studio… Mixing different styles and techniques I created these works over the past few years. Bottom row of inks are ripped from a sketchbook that is filled with bold figurative work. Playing and experimenting with many different styles.
Very quick ink studies on rice paper from 2009… Bold strokes in black ink on thin Japanese rice paper. One of my favorite ways to sketch is with a thick brush loaded with ink, trying to capture the essence or mood of the subject. Here, I tried to capture the movement of MJ with very … Continue reading
Some of the original ink drawings I drew for the Michael Jackson Opus… The drawings were created with ink and brush and are from a sketchbook, around 15 x 20 inches. I filled a few sketchbooks with rough ideas and poses of MJ in all different sizes and styles. I would just fill a thick … Continue reading

Adding a few finishing touches to a new miniature landscape for a show. This scene is a favorite subject to paint, its a marsh or pond in Japan with an ancient tree branch twisting across the water. So many incredible views like this throughout Japan, I could paint for a hundred years and never touch … Continue reading
Going through my paintings I shot a quick photo of a few signed originals. When I started back in New York I used to try and build a nice collection of autographed paintings of some of the entertainers I did work for. In Common It’s amazing when I think of all these entertainers and singers … Continue reading
Another old sketch of Michael from the late 80′s. I’m always going through many of my old time sketches and pastels I’ve collected through the years. Fun to see how the drawing style changes, the technique, and colors all change over time. This was drawn I think at the Hotel Lord Byron in Rome when … Continue reading
